The Mississippi-based DraftKings sportsbook has Closed down its Kentucky Derby futures Chances after a complaint from Churchill Downs, Inc., according to a report from the Vegas Stats & Information Network.

A source told VSiN’s Ron Flatter which CDI pointed to legal precedent as why DraftKings should get rid of the odds, produced by former Las Vegas Wynn Sportsbook manager Johnny Avello, who recently transferred to the Scarlett Pearl Casino/DraftKings publication in D’Iberville, Miss.. Avello was well-known for many years for making a lengthy list of Kentucky Derby futures odds for the Wynn. This year’s list had 285 individual horses recorded.
According to Flatter, CDI’s issue with DraftKings from Mississippi is the fact that it doesn’t host pari-mutuel gambling from racetracks, a situation where tracks receive a cut. Many Vegas casinos, including the Wynn, provide pari-mutuel wagering from tracks across the nation.
Avello told Flatter in a text he was”not clear on what really happened.” This entry was posted in NL Article, The Biz and labeled churchill downs, Churchill Downs Inc., draftkings, Johnny Avello, Kentucky Derby futures, Kentucky Derby Futures Wager by Paulick Report Staff. Bookmark the permalink.
