The funeral of Formula 2 racer Anthoine Hubert, who died in August, was held Tuesday.
Hubert, 22, was included in a three-car mishap in an F2 race during the Belgian Grand Prix weekend.
George Russell and formula 1 drivers Charles Leclerc, Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon were among those found in the funeral in Chartres, France.
“Anthoineyour smile, your vitality, that’s the picture we have you,” stated former F1 world champion Alain Prost.
Prost, symbolizing Hubert’s group Renault Sport Racing, spoke of the motorist’s”kindness, curiosity, intellect, professionalism and gentleness” and said his”quest for perfection would have driven him to get a bright future”.
The ceremony lasted more than three hours and was shown to a giant screen away from the town’s French Gothic cathedral, with Hubert’s dad Francois, Lady Julie along with other buddies also paying tribute.
Jean Todt, president of Fred Vasseur of all Alfa Romeo Racing and motorsport’s governing body the FIA, F1 directors Ross Brawn, and team executives and Sean Bratches, Chase Carey Mattia Binotto of all Ferrari, Cyril Abiteboul of both Renault, were among the mourners.
Giuliano Alesi, that was also involved with the crash, attended his dad Jean.
The other driver in the wreck, 20-year-old American Juan Manuel Correa, is”in a critical but stable condition,” his family said on Saturday.
