Hearts proprietor Ann Budge says the club’s board has given manager Craig Levein their backing .
Hearts currently sit bottom of their Premiership having only picked up two points in their opening five games of the season.
Last week’s 3-2 home defeat to Motherwell was followed by fan protests with some fans for Levein’s sacking calling, outside Tynecastle.
Budge submitted a lengthy statement on the club’s site criticising”unfair” coverage of Levein and dismissing claims which the team are lining up a replacement.
“[…] In short, our Board remains behind the manager, his coaching staff and his team,” Budge said.
“Not because he is’untouchable’, not because he’s’all-powerful’, rather than because we’re’weak’, as has been indicated.
“We stay behind him since we think in the plan we have collectively collect.
“What we do not do is overreact, throw all of our plans out of the window and then begin again!
“[…] I would just point out , contrary to other managers, who might get called facing the plank if/when things are going wrong, Craig has to introduce to the full board at every board meeting on the way things are moving against [the] plan across all areas of the football performance, including highlighting topics and talking courses of actions.”
