Tampa Bays ace is Charlie Morton, that rejuvenated his career the past two seasons with the Astros. Morton won the Wild-Card match in Oakland by allowing one run and five hits. He wont currently be prepared until Game 3 of the series once it changes to Florida.
Itll Be likely AL Cy Young winner Justin Verlander of Houston vs. Tyler Glasnow at Game 1. Verlander (21-6, 2.58 ERA) led the majors in wins and has been first in the AL in innings (233) and WHIP (0.80) while ranking second in strikeouts (300) and ERA. He has lots of playoff experience. Glasnow (6-1, 1.78) has none. He made only 12 starts this season because of trauma; Glasnow just returned early September and didnt go over 4.1 innings in four begins. He is unlikely to go deep — the Rays have a great bullpen and manager Kevin Cash isnt afraid to pull his starters (except possibly Morton) quite ancient.
Game 2 includes yet another AL Cy Young offender in Gerrit Cole (20-5, 2.50) vs. 2018 Cy Young winner along with lefty Blake Snell (6-8, 4.29) of the Rays. Snell missed about two weeks due to accidents and made just three September looks at six innings. He wont be going deep.
