After a hot July, we started the month of August out slowly. But very softly we are heating back up as night we picked up our fourth winner at our past five stakes. And last night’s triumph came on my favorite kind of winner, even an blatant money line underdog! Yesterday we stayed hot when we backed that the Minnesota Twins on the street, against the Texas Rangers.
In my estimation, the general betting public puts way too much emphasis on a game’s start pitching matchup when evaluating who to bet on. This was the situation last night since Lance Lynn, who is having a solid season for Texas, pushed this amount towards the Rangers, despite the fact that Texas had lost nine from its last eleven games, and have been a whopping fifteen games back from the Twins entering drama.
So, I did what I really like to perform, and that is place myself on the other side of this general betting public, and backed the far superior team, and picked up some wholesome dog money along the way. And in the end, Martin Perez to get Minnesota, really outpitched Lynn within this particular one. The Tampa Bay Rays are attempting to hang and sneak into the play with no much of a starting rotation. He has had some mixed results in his other five starts, but for a man this youthful and inexperienced it’s more about what he is capable of, instead of what he has actually done. And he’s certainly capable of being a top of the rotation kind of man as he has all of the makings of a All-Star at only twenty-three years of age.
The Seattle Mariners do not actually have a stereotypical genius at this point, however Marco Gonzalez has done a decent job of faking this year for Seattle. Gonzalez has turned into the huge shoes of King Felix at Seattle and has been the Mariners opening day starter this season. And during April he looked every bit the part because he had been 5-0 with a 2.80 ERA. Nevertheless, things have been downhill since then for its former first-round draft selection.
It’s not that Marco has been that bad, he has been adequate, it is merely that the Mariners don’t appear to score runs when he pitches. In his three August starts, this Mariners lineup has supplied him with just five runs of service total. That’s just within a streak and a half a game. Not even King Felix in his prime, was going to win many games using that sort of run service!
This game is going to be low scoring. The Mariners are dead last in the majors in runs scored because the trade deadline, and the Rays aren’t much better as they’re in 23rd. Both of these teams simply don’t score a whole lot of runs, and they both have great starters on the mound. Yeah, McKay was inconsistent in his short major league career, but if you’re ever going to have a really fantastic outing, pitching against a Seattle team which has a triple-A lineup right now, will certainly help.
When you look at this Mariner’s bullpen, they got the night off last night, even as Yusei Kikuchi threw a whole game, so they should be rested. The Rays? They have the lowest team ERA at the match from August, along with their bullpen has been great. I think that one goes beneath tonight. If not for the good pitching, for the dearth of successful hitting. Feels like 4-1 Tampa Bay should you want my opinion. Give me the below eight and a half runs tonight in game from Tampa Bay!
