Two Liverpool fans have been assaulted in Naples in front of the Reds’ Champions League fixture from Napoli, according to Merseyside Police.
Liverpool will start their Champions League defence on Tuesday night however there were issues with fan violence prior to the match.
Two men have been shown that by merseyside Police.
The police announcement read:”At around 6pm local time (5pm GMT), it was reported that a range of men on scooters approached the enthusiasts at a pub in the city before assaulting them.
“Two guys in the united kingdom, aged 26 and 46, sustained superficial cuts and grazes to the mind and were treated at the scene before continuing to attend the game.
“Local authorities know and Merseyside Police are operating with authorities colleagues in Naples to assist in the policing of their Champions League fixture”
