WWE MITB Kickoff Show
The WWE MITB Kickoff Show will begin at 6 PM ET and can be scheduled to have a couple matches. As expected, the WWE waited until Wednesday, May 15th, to announce another game for the Kickoff Show.
Cruiserweight Championship Match
Tony Nese (c)
Ariya Daivari
Tony Nese won the cruiserweight belt at WrestleMania 35 by defeating the long reigning champ Buddy Murphy. He’d provide Murphy a rematch two days later and win . After that match, Nese would conquer his former tag partner Drew Gulak at a non-title match. It demonstrated that Nese was on top of his game and ready to defend the name at the MITB PPV.
Ariya Daivari earned his title shot by winning a Fatal Four-Way match and then defeated Oney Lorcan. Daivari is a talented cruiserweight, but that I just don’t find the WWE taking the belt off Nese so soon. Buddy Murphy was able to bring credibility to the title with a long reign and great matches. Albeit, those matches were on the Kickoff Show of each significant event.
With that said, I think that Nese will win this game. It’ll be a great bout between two gifted wrestlers, but the WWE seems to be high on Nese.
WWE Bet: Tony Nese (N/A)
SmackDown Tag Team Title Match
The Usos
Daniel Bryan and Rowan (c)
Oh, how the mighty have fallen. Since last year, Daniel Bryan was the primary star on SmackDown as he held the world title, became the heels, and placed on solid matches for his whole run. Teaming up with Erik Rowan made things even more interesting for Bryan because he had a big body guard to protect him. Regrettably, Bryan would lose the entire world name to Kofi Kingston in WrestleMania 35. Then he missed a few weeks because of an accident only to return and be handed the SmackDown tag belts with Rowan.
The Usos were moved to RAW during the Superstar Shakeup. However, due to this stupid Wild Card rule, they have been able to look on SmackDown. The Usos are the former SmackDown tag champs having lost the belts to the Hardys who finished up relinquishing the names because of Jeff Hardy requiring knee surgery. That’s how the straps were just handed to Bryan and Rowan.
However, the Usos arrived to SmackDown a couple weeks back and flocked to Shane McMahon simply handing the straps over to Bryan and Rowan and a match was made on SmackDown. Bryan and Rowan would win the game and the belts. The Usos continued to be a thorn in the side of McMahon, therefore he made a tag title game between these two teams.
