Virgil van Dijk plays down talk of new Liverpool deal

Virgil van Dijk insists he’s”not even discussing anything in the minute” regarding negotiations over a contract expansion at Liverpool.
The Reds guardian opened to Sky Sports News reporter Bryan Swanson after Tuesday night’s 2-0 defeat away to Napoli.

Asked again about wanting to hold discussions about’any extension’, Van Dijk added:”That is not on me! I found some reports from the media I agreed stuff and a new deal.
“But I’m not even talking anything at the moment. The only thing I need to do right now is to focus on the games and we are going to see in the future what may occur.”
Van Dijk has been under Jurgen Klopp at the heart of Liverpool’s ascent, playing a major part in the path of the club last season and their emergence as the main competitors for Premier League dominance of Manchester City.
By winning their first five Premier League games, liverpool have made a perfect start to their domestic campaign, however they face their greatest challenge so far when they travel to confront Frank Lampard’s Chelsea on Sunday, live on Sky Sports.
