Jurgen Klinsmann has been named as the new head coach of Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin.
Even the 55-year-old has signed a deal to displace Ante Covic, who had been sacked by the club on Wednesday morning after being appointed in the summertime.
Covic had been with Hertha because he signed in 2003, also took a series of coaching roles in the club later retiring from professional football in 2010.
Klinsmann was appointed on the supervisory board of Hertha but has been assigned coaching duties after the club lost their last four Bundesliga games, slumping with 11 points to place at the Bundesliga.
The past that was German managed the USA national team from 2011 directing them in the 2014 World Cup in which they lost at extra-time to Belgium to the round of 16.
He returns to the dugout in his state after directing the national team into the semi-finals in their 2006 World Cup campaign as hosts plus also a stint in charge of Bayern Munich in 2009.
Across two spells, he also spent two seasons in Tottenham as a player, scoring 38 goals in 68 appearances, while playing for Inter Milan, Monaco, Bayern Munich and Stuttgart.
Once they host Dortmund on Saturday, klinsmann will take control of the first Bundesliga game.
