–‘America’s Got Talent’ has returned for the 12th season on NBC.
–This is the next live show of the season after 12 weeks of recorded footage.
–Episode Thirteen will air Tuesday, August 22 at 8 PM Eastern Daylight Time.
The SPORTS BETTING EXPERTS policy of’America’s Got Talent’ will be at full force throughout the rest of Season 12. This is the second live show after 12 weeks of taped audition footage and the arrangement will continue for the remainder of the season. The live broadcasts emanate in the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. The arrangement at this point–the’quarterfinals’ is that the top 7 acts from tonight’s contest will advance. 7 functions innovative in Week 13 and also the chances below have been updated to reflect that.
As we mentioned at the outset of our’AGT’ coverage before this Summer there’s no set amount of finalists. You would hear the word’Closing 36′ tossed around frequently but now that the smoke has cleared we are left with 33 contestants remaining. Broadly speaking,’America’s Got Talent’ utilizes the familiar reality show format which mixes the result of the judges’ ratings with an audience response element. There are a Couple of spins, however, that have become a recurring feature of the series but also may be altered at any time:
–The X: As you’ve probably guessed, the’X’ is awful news for contestants. The X is symbolic of a judge’s extreme disapproval of a functionality. It functions in much the same manner as the’gong’ on’The Gong Show’. Just one judge’s’gong’ can finish an act’s operation on’The Gong Show’ but on’America’s Got Talent’ it takes an’X’ from every judge. In most cases, it follows that the act has’the hook’ and is removed from further competition but there are some exceptions.
–The Golden Buzzer: The’Golden Buzzer’ was introduced in Season two and conveys god-like powers of salvation on the judges. Each judge can use one’Golden Buzzer’ per time but when they do here is what happens–the action in question can’t be eliminated regardless of the number of’X’s’ and more significantly they advance directly to the live series. It should be said that the host of this show enjoys this wonderful responsibility along with the four judges.
–Audience Reaction: The screening audience doesn’t have some god-like forces of salvation like conveyed by the’Golden Buzzer’ however they do have the ability to influence a judge’s vote with their reaction to some performance. In actuality, since reality shows don’t have any problem making up or changing the rules as they go along a strong’pop up’ in the crowd can save an act from elimination.
SEASON TWELVE SPECIFICS
The sponsor for Season Twelve is former supermodel Tyra Banks. That is her first season as host replacing Nick Cannon who had held the position for the past eight seasons. Initially, it had been announced that Cannon would be returning Twelve however a dreadful show biz spat between himself, NBC and the show’s producers left him on the workouts. Here’s the storyline–Cannon announced in mid-February that he will be resigning as sponsor mentioning the old standby’creative differences’. Some media wags indicated it was a’you can not fire me because I quit’ situation. Cannon had allegedly made disparaging comments about NBC in his Showtime standup unique. NBC refused to take Cannon’s resignation and there was some speculation that he would be sued for breach of contract. Ultimately, cooler heads prevailed and the network settled on Banks. The four candidates are familiar faces on the fact show circuit and return for the second season for a group. They’re Mel B (aka the artist formerly known as’Scary Spice’ in the Spice Girls), Howie Mandel, Heidi Klum and Simon Cowell. Guaranteed a spot in the Final 36 (or whatever number remains at the start of live programming). They are.
‘America’s Got Talent’ has been a big ratings winner for NBC in Season 12. As we’d expected, the return of the live shows gave an already dominant program a larger boost in the evaluation. ‘AGT’ obliterated the contest on Tuesday night both in the timeslot and for the whole evening. Nothing else was even close. ‘America’s Got Talent’ turned in a 2.8 evaluation with an 11 share attracting 13.44 million viewers. The next area show was CBS”NCIS’–also from the PM timeslot–that turned into a 0.6 rating, a 3 talk and 5.74 million audiences.
