(CNN) — For eight long years, Juventus has dominated Serie A without much of a struggle from those under it.
This season, but the leading three coaches of Italy can lock horns in what has got the potential to become one of the most exciting name races in a decade.
Inter Milan, AC Milan and also winner Juve all have changed manager as last season’s conclusion and also a flurry of transfer activity sees all three enter the effort with squads that were revamped.
While Antonio Conte arrives at an exciting, new-look Inter with belief he can battle for the Scudetto maurizio Sarri returns to Serie A following a yearlong stint at Chelsea with the job of Juventus to glory.
The pair could be combined at a thrilling title race from Carlo Ancelotti, who’s presently in his second season with Napoli and trying to shut the 11-point gap between his side and also Juve year.
“It’s become a little bit boring in Serie A within the past couple of seasons,” Italian soccer expert Mina Rzouki advised CNN Sport. “So having these 3 Italian coaches back in the league I believe is going to make it far more interesting.
“You just feel like nobody really can get near Juventus but for the very first time ever, when you cite those names and you know that Carlo Ancelotti has a great squad and you know his name alone inspires dread; you understand Antonio Conte is back and he is with the largest rival that Juventus have.”

Sarri-ball
The Old Lady, bolstered by the addition of 84 million signing Matthijs de Ligt along with the advent of transports Adrien Rabiot and Aaron Ramsey enter this season as favorite to keep its summit and acquire a record-extending ninth Serie A title.
Massimiliano Allegri’s departure after five years in charge as head coach paved the way for Sarri’s return .
Sarri style of play — called Sarri-ball — thrilled viewers throughout Europe in his final season since the Italian narrowly missing out leading his hometown club into a Serie A title since 1990, at Napoli.
Allegri used a pragmatic and more conservative style and Sarri’s most important task will be trying to convert a squad that has known nothing else to the past four seasons.
“I spent time with Juventus in pre-season and among the things that Sarri said is that this group was coached one way for four decades and reeducating them, getting them to change, is going to take a time,” journalist James Horncastle told CNN.
“It is an interesting fit because you had players in the Premier League (in Chelsea) who prefer to carry the ball, they like to dribble with the ball and that is something Cristiano Ronaldo really does.
“So when it has to do with opening teams up with this quick Sarri-ball combination playthere are some players from the group that I think are not conducive to this — and one is the largest star of the team in Cristiano Ronaldo.”

Champions League or bust?
Given its total dominance, Juventus’ obsession — really, the reason it signed Ronaldo — is now winning the Champions League.
The Portuguese himself stated he believes the clock is ticking to contribute to his haul of five this team could win the European Cup within the next two seasons and, at 34 years of age.
But couple clubs know Champions League heartbreak like Juventus.
Since last winning the competition in 1996, the Bianconeri went on to lose two successive Champions League finals and its own fortune has not changed in the intervening two decades, dropping three additional afield (2003, 2015, 2017) to achieve an undesirable tally of five consecutive final defeats.
“This team in some respects has a brief window to be able to provide,” Horncastle said. “They’ve signed Ronaldo to deliver the Champions League; Ronaldo is not enough on his own to win the Champions League.
“We noticed that a year ago he did it in both legs against Ajax — it was not enough even with him turning upward. I think, ultimately, this is why they’ve taken a punt on Sarri.”
When the new trainer, who before the start of the season was laid low by pneumonia, can execute Sarri-ball and get this group like his Napoli of older, this new-look squad could possibly be the most fascinating of Juve.
But if Juve take its eye off the ball the sides will be prepared to make the most.
“I really don’t think (Juve) will dominate quite like last year because I believe that the competition has got better,” Horncastle says of the Bianconeri’s Serie A competitions. “And there are a number of question marks regarding the new supervisor.
“In that, can he be a great match for Juventus? They’re attempting to do something different with a manager who’s very different from ones they have had previously.
“But it’s a really ambitious appointment and if he can implement that kind of play for this group of Juventus players, then it could be the very ideal Juventus we have ever observed.”
Pretenders to the throne
Inter Milan is arguably best placed to steal Juventus’ crown season and not entirely down into the signings it has made on the pitch.
Conte yields to his team for the first time as leaving Juve in 2014 for a two-year stint as head coach of the Italian national group.
The 50-year-old, who won the Premier League and FA Cup in two seasons is in control of an exciting new crop of kids headed up from Uruguayan defender Diego Godin along with Belgium ahead Romelu Lukaku’s skilled arrivals.
“With Antonio Conte at the helm of Inter, he’ll stop at nothing to win the Scudetto and place Inter back where he believes that they rightly belong,” Horncastle stated.
“Conte, for me personally, is one of, if not the largest signing that the league has ever had, be it even a coach or participant, this season. I think Inter will probably be a formidable opponent for Juventus this season and it’ll go really close.”
Already is Napoli, whose team might be prepared to mount a second name challenge after finishing 11 points back in second last period during the first, transitional year accountable of Ancelotti.
“I believe one reason those men have come back is because Serie A has an appeal again that it has dropped,” Horncastle said. “I think they, particularly Conte, want to win and if he does not think he could assemble a winning team, then he’s not interested.”
More Milan misery?
Meanwhile, its boss has been appointed by AC Milan because 2014.
Player Gennaro Gattuso has been the coach to walk out of the revolving Licensed door of Milan and was replaced by Marco Giampaolo after his work with Sampdoria.
“Milan has been a bit of an enigma over the last few seasons,” soccer journalist Mina Rzouki told CNN Sport. “And this will be the job that Giampaolo has, to unveil some thing into this new team that’s been regenerated once more.
“Having them perform with beautiful and innovative soccer — that is exactly what the style is in Milan and we always know they are a glamorous team, they’re not exactly the hardworking Juve but they are the beautiful Milan — and whenever you have coaches this Ancelotti and Conte, I’m not completely sure he can compete with them.”
But without Champions League football’s appeal, Milan was made to approach the transfer market from a different angle.
An influx of talent, headlined Real Madrid defender Theo Hernandez and by striker Rafael Le??o, gives an perfect template for both Giampaolo to use.
“It has the potential to be very thrilling,” Horncastle explained. “One reason why Milan has signed Giampaolo isn’t because his teams perform very good soccer, but they’re great to see and they perform well against the big teams, but also for a staff club that does not own its own stadiu and isn’t getting into the Champions League — how do you create money?
“You make money by signing young players who you grow and then market in some cases. Giampaolo was fantastic in that.”
One of those youngsters to be sold in Sampdoria throughout his time in charge were Lucas Torreira Milan ??kriniar, Bruno Fernandes and Patrik Schick.
Two seasons ago, after Napoli pushed against Juventus and also led the club table for extended lengths, it seemed as though the era of dominance of the Turin club came to an end.
However, the title procession of the year reaffirmed the very best of the rest were still light years behind the power saw of Italy.
This time, however, which may be about to change.
