(CNN) — For eight decades, Juventus has dominated Serie A without a lot of struggle from those below it.
This year, however, Italy’s top three coaches will lock horns in what has the capacity to be one of the title races in a decade.
Inter Milan, AC Milan and also champion Juve have changed manager because the end of last season and a flurry of transfer activity sees three enter the new campaign with squads that were revamped.
Maurizio Sarri returns to Serie A following a one-year stint in Chelsea with the job of Juventus to attractiveness, although Antonio Conte arrives at an Inter with genuine belief he could challenge for the Scudetto.
The pair could be joined at a thrilling title race with Carlo Ancelotti, who is now in his second time with Napoli and looking to shut the 11-point gap between Juve and his side season.
“It’s become a bit dull in Serie A within the past couple of seasons,” Italian football expert Mina Rzouki informed CNN Sport. “So having those 3 Italian trainers back in the Italian league I think will make it a lot more intriguing.
“You just feel like nobody can really get close to Juventus but for the first time , if you mention those titles and you also know Carlo Ancelotti has a fantastic squad and you know his name inspires fear; you know Antonio Conte goes back and he is with the biggest rival that Juventus have.”

Sarri-ball
Even the Lady, bolstered by the addition of 84 million registering the coming of Aaron Ramsey and free transports Adrien Rabiot and Matthijs de Ligt go into this season as heavy favorite to retain its summit and win a ninth Serie A title.
Massimiliano Allegri’s departure after five years in charge as head coach paved the way for the return of Sarri to Italy following his one time in England with Chelsea.
Sarri’s favorite style of play — called Sarri-ball — thrilled audiences throughout Europe in his final season as the narrowly missed out leading his hometown team into some Serie A title since 1990, at Napoli.
Allegri employed a pragmatic and more conservative style and the primary task of Sarri will try to convert a squad that has known nothing else for the past four seasons.
“I spent some time with Juventus in pre-season and one of the things that Sarri stated is that this group was coached one way for four years and reeducating themgetting them to change, will take a time,” journalist James Horncastle told CNN.
“It is an intriguing fit because you had players in the Premier League (in Chelsea) who like to carry the ball, they like to dribble with the ball and that’s something Cristiano Ronaldo really does.
“When it comes to opening teams with this fast Sarri-ball mix playthere are some players from the group I believe are not conducive to this — and yet one is the biggest star of the group in Cristiano Ronaldo.”

Champions League or bust?
Given its domestic dominance, Juventus’ obsession — really, the reason it signed Ronaldo — is now winning the Champions League.
The Portuguese himself said he believes this team could win the European Cup over the next two seasons also, in 34 decades old, the clock is ticking for Ronaldo to contribute to his haul of five.
But clubs know Champions League heartbreak such as Juventus.
Since last winning the competition in 1996, the Bianconeri went on to lose two consecutive Champions League finals and its luck has not changed in the intervening two years, losing three further finals (2003, 2015, 2017) to achieve an unwanted tally of five consecutive final beats.
“This group in some respects does have a short window so as to deliver,” Horncastle explained. “They’ve signed Ronaldo to provide the Champions League; Ronaldo is not enough on his own to win the Champions League.
“We noticed this a year ago he did it both legs against Ajax — it wasn’t enough even with him turning upward. I think, ultimately, that is why they’ve chosen a punt on Sarri.”
If the trainer, find this group like his Napoli of old and who before the new season’s beginning was laid low by pneumonia, then can apply Sarri-ball, this new-look squad might be the most fascinating yet of Juve.
But if Juve take its eye on the ball the sides that are improved and new will be prepared to take advantage.
“I really don’t think (Juve) will dominate very like a year ago since I feel the competition has got much better,” Horncastle claims of this Bianconeri’s Serie A competitions. “And then there are a few question marks about the new supervisor.
“In that, is he a great fit for Juventus? They are attempting to do something quite different with a supervisor who is very different from ones they have had in the past.
“But it is a really ambitious appointment and if he can implement that type of play with this type of Juventus players, it may be the very best Juventus we have ever observed.”
Pretenders to the throne
Inter Milan is best placed to steal Juventus’ crown this season instead of entirely down to the signings it has created on the pitch.
As departing Juve at 2014 to get a two-year stint as head coach of the national team conte yields.
The 50-year-old, who won the Premier League and FA Cup in just two seasons at Chelsea, is in control of an exciting new crop of youngsters headed up by the expert arrivals of Belgium ahead Romelu Lukaku and Uruguayan defender Diego Godin.
“With Antonio Conte at the helm of both Inter, he will stop at nothing to acquire the Scudetto and put Inter back in which he believes they rightly belong,” Horncastle said.
“Conte, for me personally, is one of, if not the largest signing that the league has had, be it a coach or player, this year. I think Inter will probably be a formidable opponent for Juventus this season and it’ll go very close.”
In the mix from seasons is Napoli, whose settled squad could be ready to mount the following name challenge after completing 11 points back during the initial, transitional season in charge of Ancelotti in second last period.
“I think one of the reasons those men have come back is due to Serie A has an appeal again it has dropped,” Horncastle explained. “I think they, particularly Conte, want to win and if he doesn’t think he could build a winning team, then he’s not interested.”
More Milan misery?
After failing to qualify for the Champions League for the fifth season Meanwhile, the AC Milan has appointed its boss since 2014.
Former participant Gennaro Gattuso was the most recent coach to walk from Milan door that is Licensed and has been replaced by Marco Giampaolo following his work with Sampdoria.
“Milan was somewhat of an enigma throughout the last few seasons,” football journalist Mina Rzouki informed CNN Sport. “And that will be the task that Giampaolo has, to infuse some thing to this brand new team that’s been regenerated once more.
“Having them play with beautiful and progressive soccer — which is what the style is at Milan and we always understand they are a glamorous group, they’re not the hardworking Juve but they’re the exquisite Milan — and whenever you have coaches such an Ancelotti and Conte, I’m not completely sure he will compete together.”
However, without Champions League football’s appeal, Milan was forced to approach the transfer market to its rivals from another angle.
An influx of talent that is exciting, headlined by striker Rafael Le??o and Real Madrid defender Theo Hernandez, provides an perfect template for Giampaolo to work with.
“This has the potential to be quite arousing,” Horncastle stated. “One of the reasons why Milan has signed Giampaolo is not only because his teams perform very good soccer, but they are great to see and they do well against the big teams, but also for a team club that doesn’t own its stadiu and is not getting into the Champions League — how do you create money?
“You make money by signing young players that you develop and then market in some instances. Giampaolo was fantastic in that.”
One of those youngsters that are gifted to be marketed at Sampdoria throughout his time in charge were Bruno Fernandes, Lucas Torreira, Milan ??kriniar and Patrik Schick.
When Juventus were pushed by Napoli to the penultimate match of the campaign and led the club table for long lengths, it looked like the age of dominance of the Turin club was coming to an end.
However, last year’s name procession reaffirmed the top of the rest were still years behind the powerhouse of Italy.
This season, though, that could be about to shift.
