La Liga have asked to the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) that this seasons El Clasico assembly between Barcelona and Real Madrid be moved to Madrid amid rising protests and political tensions in Catalonia.
Two leaders had been jailed in subsequent independence bid and an illegal referendum, igniting protests and clashes throughout the area.
The game is due to take place on Saturday October 26 at Barcas Nou Camp. However, the football league is trying to reverse the fixture due to ongoing trouble through the autonomous area.
This seasons second meeting is due to take place in Madrid in March.
