La Liga have requested to the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) this seasons El Clasico assembly between Barcelona and Real Madrid be transferred to Madrid amid rising protests and political anxieties in Catalonia.
Nine separatist leaders were jailed for between two and 13 years due to their role in an illegal referendum and subsequent independence bid, sparking protests and clashes .
The game is supposed to occur on Saturday October 26 in Barcas Nou Camp. On the other hand, the Spanish football league is seeking to undo the fixture because of ongoing trouble throughout the autonomous region.
The next meeting of this season is due to take place in Madrid in March next year.
