This month El Clasico between Barcelona and Real Madrid has been postponed because of fears of civil unrest.
There were days of protest in Barcelona after nine Catalan separatist leaders were detained on Monday although the game was scheduled for 26.
Before this week, La Liga requested the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) to switch the game to Madrid.
A new date must be agreed by the clubs .
Manager Ernesto Valverde had stated the Barcelona were contrary to switching the match as they play off three times prior to El Clasico was scheduled.
La Liga created the postponement request due toexceptional circumstances beyond our control as more protests are expected in Barcelona throughout the afternoon of the match.
Protests have turned to a fourth day at Spains Catalonia region with protesters clashing with riot police. At least 96 people have been hurt throughout the area.
Catalonia is a semi-autonomous region in north-east Spain and at a referendum on 1 October 2017, declared prohibited by Spains Constitutional Court, about 90 percent of Catalan votes throw. Turnout was 43 percent.
The two separatist leaders were convicted above their function at the referendum of sedition and handed prison sentences of between nine and 13 years by the Supreme Court of Spain.
