BetOnline has to be gambling that the Phillies land one of those megastar free agents still on the market — Bryce Harper or even Manny Machado. But landing among those players may not even vault the Phillies to the top of the division.
The Marlins, that are anticipated to become one of the worst teams in baseball this season, have 150/1 chances.
Baseball Prospectus now projects the Nationals to win 89 games, with the Mets in 88, also Braves and Phillies both at 85.
The Yankees have the best odds to win the title, at 6/1, followed by the Red Sox and Astros in 7/1, and Dodgers at 9/1. The worst chances belong to the Orioles, that are 250/1.
