Sheffield Wednesday are in talks with Lincoln manager Danny Cowley about the vacant managerial position in Hillsborough, Sky Sports knows.
The Owls are searching for a new director after Steve Bruce quit to join Newcastle in mid-july, together with Lee Bullen in charge.
Sheffield Wednesday have lost three of their last four league matches and are 11th in the Sky Bet Championship table going into this week break.
It is considered any bargain for Cowley will have his brother and helper, Nicky, making the change into South Yorkshire.
Lincoln have told Sky Sports News the brothers will take charge of Tuesday night’s Leasing.com Trophy match against Doncaster.
At which they currently sit second in the table , two points behind leaders Ipswich the duo have obtained the club from the National League.
