Miss USA 2019 was the Miss USA pageant. It was held on May 2, 2019 at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada. While Lu Sierra functioned as commentator, all for the second consecutive time, Vanessa Lachey and nick Lachey functioned as hosts. Sarah Rose Summers of Nebraska crowned her successor Cheslie Kryst of North Carolina at the end of the event. The United States will be represented by kryst at Miss Universe 2019. The 2019 contest served as the 2nd successive time that the pageant was held simultaneously with the Miss Teen USA competition.

On March 28, 2019, the Miss Universe Organization (MUO) confirmed that the pageant would be held on May 2 at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada, this was the ninth time Nevada hosting the pageant rather than Las Vegas, which was hosted earlier. [5][6] Shortly afterwards, it had been verified that Miss USA 2018 hosts Nick Lachey and Vanessa Lachey would be returning to host the 2019 contest. [2]
After the statement of Reno being selected as the competition’s host city, it appeared that the MUO were originally planning on holding the competition in Honolulu, Hawaii. The plan had been rejected by Hawaiian officials and relocated to Reno from the MUO after the Hawaii Tourism Authority (HTA) reported They would be unable to secure the funds to sponsor the competition the MUO had asked, adding that they would be interested in hosting the 2020 contest
