In a show in Dublin, the 48-year-old was once again given the opportunity to vent his fury if he was assistant at three Republic of Ireland gamers that crossed his path.

“Brian Clough [his supervisor at Nottingham Forest]. You’re on about motivation. He struck to me – it had been heated and that he was upset. I remember thinking,’you are still a manager’.
“I came from the following day and educated. I didn’t text someone in the press or go on Ratsapp.”
