Salford Red Devils’ Lee Mossop states that their match against Wigan Warriors in the Super League play-offs is your”best match” for these.
Many tipped Salford for relegation but, after a successful season under the guidance of coach Ian Watsonthey finished third and procured their spot.
Prop Mossop, who moved out of Wigan into the Red Devils, says as they seem to make the semi-finals, it is the match for them.
He said:”We are full of confidence in the minute. Wigan this week, we’ve got and it is the ideal match for us.
“They’ve been here each year, they are reigning champions, and they understand how to win those matches. It is going to give us a fantastic idea of where we are at.
“Although we are not disrespecting them, we’re very confident going up against them.”
A win against Leeds Rhinos a couple of weeks ago all-but confirmed their spot from the play-offs, before it had been confirmed on Friday using a victory against Hull.
Despite a shaky start to the season, they have and so are currently targeting the Grand Final.
Mossop explained:”We’re obviously very happy where we’re but not happy enough nevertheless. We wish to keep moving within these play-offs and see where it takes .
“In the onset of the year , we were getting beat by 2 points, four things, and we just couldn’t put our finger on why.
“We thought that if we set our intentions we could challenge many teams but it simply wasn’t happening.
“Fortunately enough, we have managed to flip it around. We are on a good run and, with every match, we’re getting more and more confidence.
“From the adversity we’ve faced this season, the little squad we had, and the fiscal things behind the scenes – it is all contributing to this fairytale ending.”
