Tyson Fury was”very lucky” to prevent a shock defeat against Otto Wallin after enduring a cut which may jeopardise his February rematch with Deontay Wilder, states Eddie Hearn.
Britain’s former world champion battled win over Wallin previous weekend, even though maintaining a wound at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on his right eye at the third round.
But Hearn considers Fury was fortunate as the referee ruled the cut was brought on by a punch to prevent a stoppage reduction, along with also the Matchroom Boxing boss questioned whether the heavyweight can recuperate in time.
“I have not seen itbecause I had been on a plane, but I landed and checked my social websites and watched that the scores and watched that the clip ,” Hearn told Sky Sports. “I think firstly he’s very lucky not to eliminate the struggle with this cut.
“I feel any other country on earth, they would have stopped the fight. I only believe in these struggles against that opposition sometimes you do not end up motivated to do and clearly he didn’t work at his best, but he had the injury as well and I believe that you’ll see him perform a lot better against the likes of Wilder and things like that.
“I don’t know how long he is going to be out for. I really don’t think he will be prepared for his February struggle, but I do not think so it may work in their own favour, Wilder will be prepared for the February fight either. I anticipate a different Tyson Fury from Wilder, if this rematch becomes produced.”
Anthony Joshua will attempt to recover his world titles live on Sky Sports Box Office, and Hearn expects his fighter could take in the future on Wilder or Fury.
“Joshua’s battle dates have always been extremely solid and this one, December 7, Saudi Arabia, that’s what we concentrate on,” he said.
“I expect that Wilder-Fury will get produced – it’s a fantastic struggle for the branch. Two fighters and that I expect that AJ can do the goods and move on and fight with the winner, but now, all the talking about potential conflicts is out the window. Just pure focus on Andy Ruiz.”
