Marcus Edwards, who was compared to Lionel Messi by Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino, looks set to join with an Portuguese club.
The midfielder needed a loan stint from the Netherlands last season, where he made 25 appearances for Excelsior in the Eredivisie, scoring two purposes.
He also had a loan spell at Norwich but made one Championship look for the side of Daniel Farke.
The 20-year-old has been the best scorer at 2017/18 at the U19 UEFA Youth League with four goals in six starts during the group phase, and is under contract till 2020 in Tottenham.
He scored a further five goals in nine Premier League two looks.
Edwards has represented England at U19, U17, U18, U16 and U20 amounts – winning the European U19 Championship at Georgia in 2017 using the Young Lions.
