If strategies to change club competitions proceed, player welfare will be in danger, says the entire body representing leagues.
Juventus chairman Andrea Agnelli wants to change the structure of their Champions League and talked on Tuesday about the problem in a leaders summit.
But president of European Leagues, Lars-Christer Olsson, mentioned fixture and is contrary to the movement.
It is getting more clear we have to look after the gamers, Olsson said.
If they are playing 70 or 80 matches per calendar year, theres a high likelihood of them getting injured.
Olssons organisation – European Professional Football Leagues Association known as European Leagues – states its the voice of football leagues around Europe on all topics of shared interest.
He desires plans to change the Champions League format.
Its been suggested the competition could be altered from its existing set up – eight teams of four to six groups of six. Such a move would raise the number of group-stage suits for each team.
Olsson believes the one method of dealing with additional matches would be to get clubs to expand their squads into 40 players but believes this would dilute the rivalry as a complete and, in any circumstance, would reap the wealthier clubs, a thing hes more compared to.
Agnelli has been canvassing opinion from the clubs for a shift in the model that is European of Europe.
The Italian is to achieve any consensus and utilized his speech, in the Leaders Sport Business Summit at Twickenham, to tell the leagues that they needed to quit sayingno, no into some revision of their current system.
Agnelli argues that if soccer is to stay intriguing to some younger generation he considers will be attracted away by computer games such as Fortnite and League of 33, change must happen.
But Olsson explained:Its a contradiction to state the clubs are fighting the leagues. Each of the clubs have been in leagues and among the leagues there is not any issue.
Olsson says the leagues are against the present idea of incorporating promotion and relegation into European rivals, presuming it might turn them intoa closed shop.
It is completely non-negotiable, he explained.
If you acquire a single tier, it makes feel you should find the chance to play with at the following level and if you win the Champions League, you should be in a position to guard it, but these 3 groups are the only ones who should be given the chance to play in European club football the next season .
The rest should be down to current victory on the pitch at a domestic league. Clubs shouldnt have an edge because of everything they have done before.
Neither do I feel that the big leagues – England, Spain, Italy and Germany – should have four teams that go into the team stages since it limits the opportunities for teams from other nations.
It should be three and one to the qualifying round. If the fourth group is good enough, theyll undergo but someone else must have a chance of doing it as well.
Agnelli has set a deadline of autumn 2022 to think of a platform, which can be utilized as the foundation for negotiations over the television deals.
He cited the growth of the womens game for a reason why an alternative has to be found that will create earnings for medium ranking clubs in particular.
The growth of the womens match has brought a breath of fresh air to the business, he explained.
Trainers are finally realising that the womens sport is very important and can be another source of possible customers and fans.
But its tough to ask a club by a moderate or small-sized team to invest 2m – which is what you need from the start when you consider logistics, transport, hotels and wages – out of a general budget of 20m. Its the equivalent of a third division mens team.
A quagmire of mediocrity or eventhe only catastrophe is an injury crisis – how bad is it at Manchester United and can be Ole Gunnar Solskjaer protected from the sack?
