Andy Murray says that he believes he can be competitive against the top players ahead of the Shanghai Masters following week.
His comeback was continued by the former world No 1 with a remarkable run in the China Open this week, which ended against seed Dominic Thiem.
After encouraging wins Murray was back in the previous eight of the ATP tour event for the first time in 12 weeks.
until a few weeks before, perhaps a month ago, I didnt know competitive Id be right at the top level, he explained.
As I got here (China) I feel as in the matches Ive played Ive been competitive from each of the players Ive played against.
I played a top 10 player, a top 20 player, a top 30 player. I felt just as I have done well although Clearly I havent won all the games.
Hopefully over the next month, two months, I can keep progressing a tiny bit. I really dont think I have got to the end of that road
Murray faces planet No 59 Juan Londero at the first round of the Shanghai Masters on Monday.
