Scott Hastings’ Best CFB Bets – August 31, 2019

The first full slate of college football games on a Saturday is upon us and it feels like the smell of cut grass. You seeing over 50 matches and might be looking at your book, getting overwhelmed and heading back into bed. I’ve made choices on five games which may??help it become a bit more easy for you.
Without further ado, here are my five favorite college football stakes for Saturday
This line has been moving down all week which has left me a happy person. I expected some motion in another direction after the injury to Alabama center linebacker Dylan Moses, who’s basically the quarterback of the defense. Meanwhile, running springs Najee Harris and Brian Robinson is going to likely be frozen for the first half of this match, while that will detour individuals, this intrigues me as I’m convinced coach Nick Saban will need some full-team repetitions with Tua Tagovailoa at the second half allowing more opportunities to rack up the score.
Alabama averaged 45.6 points per game last year and using the Tagovailoa/Jerry Jeudy link, I anticipate another offensive juggernaut at 2019, although the lack of Moses to the defensive side of the ball could create some gaps early on this Duke may have the ability to harness and find some offense to help the OVER.
That the Texas Longhorns have dropped to unranked teams and that has frightened me away from financing them in the first stages of 2019. That said I have a lot of confidence at the crime of the Longhorns and quarterback Sam Ehlinger’s continuing development. Texas’ offense has a coordinator and ought to be able to flex its muscles from an LA Tech team which has to replace its line.
It takes two to tango and like the Bulldogs’ defensive linethat the Longhorns have a new-look defense as well after finding success on that side of the ball in 2018. There are eight starters out of 2018 that are not on the group this year, so there will be some growing pains with this young, albeit, talented defense along with victory should be found by the veteran offense of LA Tech.
I have been a small bullish on Michigan going in to the 2019 season coming from an Ohio State fan. That is the fifth season with the Wolverines, no more excuses of Jim Harbaugh, this is the group that you’ve constructed and I believe they get the year started off with a bang. Last season, have a seasoned veteran team and Michigan had four wins of 35 points or more.
The Blue Raiders played one ranked Week 3 in Georgia, squad last season, and was swarmed 49-7. Josh Gattis is your new offensive coordinator for the Wolverines and should spark some life into what appeared to be a small stale crime at times this past year. Michigan will be among the top colleges in the nation and winning from more or 35 in Week 1 shouldn’t come as any surprise.
The game of college soccer’s Week 1 schedule has a pair of teams clubbed in AT&T Stadium in Texas. There’s a whole lot of hype Oregon and its quarterback Justin Herbert heading into 2019, and rightfully so. The senior threw for over 3,000 yards with 29 touchdowns and eight interceptions as his Ducks finished 9-4, including a triumph over Michigan State in the Redbox Bowl.
True freshman Bo Nix is poised to turn heads for Auburn. The two true freshmen to start for a Power Five group both went to win the championship in Trevor Lawrence at 2019 and Tua Tagovailoa in 2018 I’m not stating Auburn will win the name that Nix is no joke. Furthermore there has already been seven matchups with teams along with the home team is 5-2 SU and ATS in those games. Lastly, the Pac-12 for a street team vs the SEC can be 6-13 SU 8-10-1 ATS and hasn’t had a win since 2009.
I needed to have one underdog on the listing and I am looking at the West Coast with this particular one. The Huskies are bringing in Eastern Washington for its first evaluation in an FCS squad and the lineup reflects the disparity between the colleges. I think that is a lineup good enough to leap with??the Eagles coming off a strong showing in 2018.
Eastern Washington had the fourth-best offense in the FCS and seemed at the FCS domestic championship match, but lost to North Dakota State. They have nine starters returning along with the program previously has been shown to be tough against Washington. Meanwhile, the Huskies have a quarterback , new running overall and back had to substitute nine starters. Washington ranked 88th in offense this past year and may stumble from the gate mixed with the Eagles’ high-octane offense and that’s why I’m backing Eastern Washington.

Norway the Nation to Beat at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games

When you think of athletic powerhouses across the world, you believe USA, Germany, Russia.
You likely do not think about Norway, the Nordic country who is set to open a can of whoop-ass in Pyeongchang.
Either some seriously sharp Olympic bettors were piling Norway or even Bovada just eventually realized their chances were way off when they made odds for each one the respective events. We have seen some good movement over the last couple of months, since Norway has gone from +300 to +140 for total awards and +185 into -120 for golden medals.
There are currently odds for all but one of those 102 events recorded on Bovada and I decided to go through and count how many people with high 3 chances in each event are from Norway, Germany, and USA. You should probably bet on Norway at +140…
Norway: 47
Germany: 30
USA: 29
For comparison’s sake, Russia had 29 awards to take the crown in 2014, USA had 37 for shirts in 2010, and Germany had 29 in 2006. Norway hasn’t taken this title.
Now, counting the folks with top 3 odds does not mean that Norway will have 18 more medals than USA. Also consider the fact that Team USA’s odds are likely shaded. I am no doctor…or scientist…or census person, but I’d imagine Bovada has more Americans in their site than Norsemen.
In terms of the gold medals, Norway is likely still a solid bet even at -120. They’ve 22 favorites, including eight events with an odds-on favourite. Germany has 13 favorites with six odds-on, and the USA is favored in 12 events, but only three of which have an odds-on favourite. If you’re curious, those three events are women’s hockey, Mikaela Shiffrin in women’s ski slalom, and Lindsay Vonn in women’s downhill ski.
The Olympics are only a couple of days away and coming your way soon is going to function as super-duper mega Olympic guide, together with odds, picks, and results for EVERY occasion.

I Bought “Guaranteed” Wins From Instagram Handicappers.

We live in the time of social networking, where the authentic and the counterfeit share the identical land. Millions of goods and services are sold over various social networks each and every day, and among them is a service that used to exist only in the margins of their yellow pages: sports-handicapping picks.

As a result of the recent legalization of sport betting, there are tens of thousands of Instagram sports-handicapping accounts, with countless more cropping up daily. I signed up for a few of these’capping services to see if they could provide on their promises of guaranteed wins. Here is what happened.

My Methodology
To get started, I found just 100 Instagram accounts that certainly offered’pro’ sports picks in exchange for money.

I stuck with Instagram only for a couple reasons. Does Instagram have additional accounts to pick from than any other stage, but I had heard a lot of rumblings about especially lousy pick services being supplied on Instagram. Additionally, people can boast on Instagram better than anywhere else, and ultimately I had been seeking to investigate self-aggrandizing handicappers.

No social networking platform has good policing or stringent content regulators, but Instagram is a visual medium, and its governments are generally more worried about scrubbing out a deluge of more x-rated groin shots than sub-par handicappers. This can be different than, say, Twitter or Facebook, which focus a whole lot more on the industrial aspects on their own platforms.

How I Sorted During Instagram’s countless Thousands of Self-Professed Handicappers
There was a two-day lag between producing the first 100-account list along with the date I selected which ones to sign-up for. In that time, 13 of those 100 accounts were defunct. Of course, I can not conclusively state why they disappeared, but my educated guess is that they were shut down to being fraudulent or were erased by their own founders after picking too many losers.

I planned to reach out to 30 prominent handicappers and solicit their solutions. Since I wished to focus on the handicappers who’re chiefly driven by societal media, I just pursued people who took repayments through submitted Venmo, PayPal, or the CashApp speeches — I stayed off their sites.
